How is your day going so far? This Cadwaladr!

I want to talk to you about my little brother's ears. They are very interesting! I have known my little brother for just a couple of months, but in that time his ears have changed SO much! My mum and dad have told me that my ears have always been pointed. I think you have all seen my puppy pictures, haven't you? Well, my brother's ears are changing all the time! They never stay still.

At first his ear were very flat and flopped forward near his eyes.

Then they started to point sideways.

Slowly, they started trying to point up to the sky!

They were almost pointed, but his right ear has given up trying to be pointy, it seems! He now has one almost pointed ear, and one floppy ear. I wonder what happened? Is it normal? I think my mum is a little worried about it. Can I ask all you readers with dogs with pointed ears some advice. Do you think my brother's right ear is okay? I hope so! I like his ears a lot! They are much bigger than mine! His hearing is excellent. He can hear when mum is serving us our dinner and he runs to the kitchen and gets very excited! Has my mum told you that he is food crazy? He really is!

Anyway, I'm going to play with my brother for a while now. We like to chase each other a lot. It is so fun having my little brother to play with! Yeah!!!

St. David's, here I come!

Hi, everyone!

This is Cadwaladr.

My family and myself visited St. David's city in Pembrokeshire! Yes! The Corgi Land! It was my first time to visit my home county!  I didn't see any Corgis there, though! I was the only one! Lol! Lol!

It is said that Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is one of the best coast line in the world according to the National Geographic. It says Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland, Canada is the best in this article. I really wonder what it is like in Avalon Peninsula because as you will read my adventure, Pembrokeshire's coast line was SO pawsome! I thought I was in heaven! I am very proud of myself that my home county is such a beautiful place!

Apologies to any Cardigan Corgis reading. I will be visiting your home town in the future article! I promise! Cardigan is just north from Pembrokeshire in Ceredigion.

Well, this time, we hiked around St Non’s Bay and our hike started from Caerfai Bay near St David’s that has cliffs of purple sandstone and a sandy beach.

I told you that I have been practicing swimming these days. Yes. I was preparing for today! Lol! What do you think of my swimming skill? Am I better than Michael Phelps?

And, I had so much fun running on the beach!

Ridge Walking 3 (Twin Peaks in the UK)

After Cadwaladr finished trying to play with his cute lamb friend, we followed the trail and we reached Fan y Big where pawsome scenery waited for us.

From left to right, Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn and Twin Peaks on Cadwaladr's head. Please feel free to climb up them.

'Don't make fun of my big ears!!!!!'

We walked for about 5 hours this time. We were thinking of climbing up to the top of Cribyn, but our little Corgi was getting grumpy--he gets VERY grumpy when he is too tired--, so we could not make it. Well, we will have another chance to go up there.

The Brecon Beacons is always there!

How is your Thursday so far?

Today I would like to show you my favourite park where I often go for a walk. It has a nice lake and at this time, the cherry trees are blossoming SO beautifully.

Ridge Walking 2 ( Ridge Bwlch & Puppy Play With A Lamb)

After we reached the top of Craig y Fan Ddu, we started some LOVELY ridge walking! It is called Ridge Bwlch. Cadwaladr told us to upload the video saying that he'd like to share his wonderful experience with you. The white spots you see in this video are sheep beneath the ridge.

Yes.
In the second picture, you see Mr. Chewy Cadwaladr. This natural stream with cubic rocks caught our eyes. It suddenly appeared after quite a long ridge walk. It seemed Cadwaladr enjoyed this stream, so he kept going back and forward a lot.

We must not forget that Cadwaladr is a Welsh Corgi and this breed is for herding--herding sheep. Corgis drive the herd forward by nipping at their heels and working them from behind in semicircles. This time, we could see that he is for sure a Corgi. As you saw the pictures in the article 'Dear Insomniacs', we have quite many sheep here. Cadwaladr didn't care about them so much; however, this time, he met some sheep on the ridge and his natral instinct made him follow them!

Ridge Walking 1 (Craig y Fan Ddu)

Every Saturday we try to go hiking because Cadwaladr is a born hiker and he belongs to nature. On last Saturday, we did some lovely ridge walking from Craig y Fan Ddu to Bwlch y Ddwyallt to Fan y Big, in the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The trail to Craig y Fan Ddu was a paradise for Cadwaladr--fresh sheep poop paradise--. The more we go hiking, the more we realize that there is nothing we can do about his poop eating problem.

For people who don't know what the "Cadchelin Guide" is, it is the "Michelin Guide" for Corgis.

Today I would like to tell you how much I was excited yesterday to read Ann's blog 'Pawsitively Pets'. Ann is from the US and her blog has many interesting articles about pets like me. It's so interesting and such fun to read!! In her article, she mentioned about me! Wow! Mum, you should have taken a picture with my tuxedo on for her blog! Why didn't you dress me in my tuxedo?

I can't thank her enough because many people from her blog visited mine!

His bed is getting thinner and thinner day by day. We have bought him two beds so far and he has destroyed them both! I wonder how many beds we will have to buy him before he stops?

Corgi vs Kong Toy

Bore da! Good morning!

This is Cadwaladr.

Today, I want to show you how good I am playing with my Kong toy. I couldn't get my treats very well when I was younger, but it's getting easier for me to get them out these days. My parents must get me something more difficult! Lol!

Pen y Fan

Last Monday, we went to the highest mountain in southern UK. It is called "Pen y Fan". The sky was very clear. Not like the weather this past week!

We parked our car near the Neuadd Reservoir and started our hike. We walked on the well-made track that leads up the mountain. As it was a bank holiday, we could meet many hikers there.

'Welcome to the Brecon Beacons!'

Usually, when we go hiking, we do the full course which includes Cribyn (795m), Pen y Fan (886m) and Corn Du (873m). However, this time, we had someone with short legs and he is still very young, so we picked an easier course. We skipped Cribyn and Corn Du.

'How dare you call my legs short!'
'They are longer than yours! Lol!'

As it was a hot day, our little Corgi kept panting. He usually enjoys his lunch--sheep poop--on the trail, but they looked quite dry and they weren't attractive enough for Mr. Chewy Cadwaladr. Good for us, but no good for him!

Well, walking up to Pen y Fan was not easy for him. A rocky path stood in his way. He took some steps walking up and he took some rest. It seems we chose a quite difficult course for him. We had to carry him just before we reached the top of Pen y Fan.

After we left Pen y Fan, we enjoyed walking on high ridges.

Helo, sut wyt ti? Hello! How are you?

This is Cadwaladr.

It seems quite many of you are annoyed by the bad weather these days. It's boring, isn't it? I've been doing indoor fetch a lot like Jimmy and Wilson--thanks for your comment. Well, it is still fun, but running outside is the best for me! Yeahhhh! My mum took me for a walk this morning and I ran and ran and ran!

'Future football player, here I come!'

Cadwaladr loves chewing and chasing his favourite football.

This video was taken on the second day he came to our home when he was 8 weeks old. He did not have Corgi ears yet. He looked like a little fox. This football is still his favourite and he goes everywhere it goes. And now he's learnt how to make us throw the ball. He places it at his feet and nudges it towards us with his nose! He is getting clever and clever. :)

'I was good in the class!'

Hello, everyone!

This is Cadwaladr reporting from the rainy UK.

As my Mum wrote before, we were planning to go hiking this weekend, but the weather’s not been good, so we could not go. It’s Sunday and I had my puppy class. To tell you the truth, I was a little worried going to my class today because I knew I was not a good student in the class. My teacher tells me I don’t have to worry so much, but I already went there 3 times and still I sometimes sit in the corner on my own. So, I wondered what it would be like today, and I know my parents worry about my timidness, too.

But guess what? I can tell you that I was a little different today!! I could feel I grew up a little! There was no chance for me to be alone because I had a good time there!

Today, my Daddy and I practiced walking along the agility course. You know, the agility course? Those wonderful Border Collies enjoy doing agility courses! Have you ever watched CRUFTS? I love it! In the course, there were 3 bars to jump, and some poles to go through. Anyways, my Daddy held a bowl filled with treats, and I followed him because I wanted those treats! They looked good! I knew if I could do a good performance, I could get my treats!

You know that I don’t have long legs? Everyone did not think I could jump the bars, but I DID! Yeah! I could hear everyone say ‘Oh……!’ In the course there were some points where I had to go down and I did that, too! And I could play with my friends a lot today. I thought I was a wimp, but I felt very good today in the class! Above all, the happiest thing was my teacher, my Daddy and my Mummy; they looked so happy seeing my performance because they worry about my wimpy character a lot. Now, I feel I am a little closer to my friends who are very good!

After my class, I was so tired and I slept in the backseat of my car. I love this seat. Cars are very convenient. They can take us everywhere! I wish I could drive a car!

After I came home, I practiced again what I learned in the class with my Daddy. I could see how happy he was today! I feel so good to have made him happy! For a reward, my Mummy gave me some apples for my desert today!
